E.S.T. "Believe Beleft Below" - Landgren, Svensson, Bergman & Strindberg

Para além da beleza do tema (de Esbjörn Svensson), Nils Landgren mostra a simplicidade e grandeza da sua alma musical, mesmo sem o seu trombone.
Gostei tanto disto que lembrei-me logo de dois conterrâneos seus que dispensam apresentação: Ingmar Bergman e August Strindberg.

Besides the beauty of Svensson's piece Landgren without resorting to his excellent trombone talent performs here with such graceful subtley that one can't help but surrender to his call. It is so entralling that I instantly remebered and wished to include something with two of his countrymen, artistic geniuses that need no introduction - Ingmar Bergman e August Strindberg.

Abbey!!!!!!
It is a very sad day that makes us say good-bye to Abbey Lincoln. Yesterday, on the 14th of August 2010 she left us. Just the other day I was celebrating her birthday, sad news indeed!
She'll be sorely missed.

Concerto LONGITUDE ZERO ao som das Perseidas (estrelas cadentes) logo à noite
Hoje dia 12 de Agosto, integrado no 'Festival dos Oceanos', que acaba depois de amanhã há concerto - LONGITUDE ZERO -
No terraço do reservatório 'Mãe d'Água' em Lisboa (Jardim das Amoreiras), com Lisboa a seus pés, hoje pelas 21H00, com o acompanhamento do espectáculo "espacial" as Perseidas (chuva de estrelas cadentes) marcadas para ocorrer em simultâneo, poderão ouvir tocar este grupo em sexteto. Os temas serão "standards" de jazz e alguns originais.
Ao ar livre com a cidade a seus pés, as estrelas que aguardam os vossos desejos, e os seis a tocar, a noite promete.

Guida Costa na voz & no trombone de varas; João Courinha no saxofone; Rodrigo Santo Anastácio na guitarra; Carlos Azevedo no piano; Zeca Neves no contrabaixo; e Paleka na bateria.

Abbey Lincoln's birthday
Tomorrow August 6th, Abbey Lincoln
(originally named Anna Marie Gaby Wooldridge, and now known as 'Aminata Moseka' )
will turn eighty tomorrow. Born in 1930 Abbe's birth is truly a reason to rejoice!!
